Getting Started
Intake Process
1
Get in touch
We are a neuro-affirming practice, and as such we generally do most of our communications via email. Please contact us via admin@eospsychology.com with a brief description of what you’re needing help with.
You will hear from Lucy within 2 business days to organise a quick phone to talk a little more.
2
Phone consult
Often Lucy manages the initial phone consults, so you will probably hear from her even if you are wanting to book with Angelica.
Lucy will get some more information about what you need help with, what you’ve tried before, and what you think might be helpful now. She can then make some suggestions about whether our practice is the right fit for you, which of us might be the best fit, or refer you on to other services if that seems like a good idea.
3
Initial appointment
In the initial appointment we will get more details on what brings you to therapy, and perhaps we might talk a little about your family and your background.
With Angelia, you have the option of an extended initial appointment (90 minutes). This is aligned with her way of working, but is entirely optional. We will discuss this with you at the time of booking - whatever you prefer is fine.
If necessary, we will refer you to a suitable colleague if it seems that we don’t have the right skill-set to help you. This doesn’t happen often, but we feel it’s important that you are placed with the right person.
FAQs
What if we’re not the right fit?
Fit between therapist and client is one of the most important factors for good therapy. During the intake process, we will let you know if there are any potential issues with the fit, and provide referrals to other services if we think you would be better cared for elsewhere.
I’m not sure if my issue is serious enough to see a psychologist?
Interesting! This probably means there is plenty to talk about. If you are feeling the urge to go to therapy, there is most likely something there for us to unpack.
